Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Civic Center Coalition announced today that it will hold the “Raise The Rink” fundraiser on Friday, June 2, an event at the Glens Falls Civic Center with all proceeds benefitting the Keep Hockey Here fundraiser.
The Raise The Rink fundraiser will feature silent auctions, raffles, live music, food and entertainment for a fun night out in support of the local community. The silent auction will include a number of authentic jerseys signed by NHL superstars including Henrik Lundqvist, Patrick Kane, Jaromir Jagr, Alex Ovechkin and more. Additional silent auction items will include a patio set from Telescope Furniture, a weekend getaway in Boston and more items to come. A full list of auction and raffle items will be posted on closer to the event.
The event will run from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. All adult tickets for admission will be $25 and youth tickets (14 and under) will be $10. All adult admission tickets will have two food and drink tickets included. The event will have several local food and beverage vendors present, serving all attendees on the evening, plus live entertainment throughout the evening from Bobby Dick & Susie Q.
“We’re excited to be able to offer a series of incredible items and experiences to our local community as we look to continue our fundraising effort to purchase the Adirondack Thunder,” Coalition President Dan Burke said. “We are thankful to our numerous donors who have provided marquee items for our efforts and can’t wait for a fun night at the Civic Center."
The coalition launched the "Keep Hockey Here" fundraising campaign on February 28, the date it agreed to purchase the Adirondack Thunder from the Calgary Sports & Entertainment. The campaign is designed to solicit the additional funds necessary for a successful team ownership and the coalition has set a $1 million campaign goal, including contributions from coalition members. The sale of the Thunder will be officially approved on June 30, 2017 with campaign completion targeted by that date. Fans can make an online donation to help “Keep Hockey Here” by visiting
The Adirondack Civic Center Coalition is a nonprofit group of local business and community volunteer leaders who manage the Glens Falls Civic Center. In April 2015, the coalition entered into a lease-purchase agreement with the city of Glens Falls to take control of the building.  The coalition aims to preserve the Civic Center as a premier venue for sports and entertainment in the Adirondack region.
